What a wild summer this has been for iPhone repair! While prices for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have fallen and reached better price points, there has been a unique trend happening with iPhone 5, 5S, and 5C screen repair – the wholesale cost of the parts has been rising. This started to happen late spring / early summer. For the last couple months iDoctor has been maintaining stable prices during this time. With recent word that wholesale inventory remains unstable, and another round of wholesale price increases that will become effective this afternoon, our retail prices will also be increasing to reflect both the wholesale cost and the increased inventory needed to maintain continuous service to our customers.
There are many rumors as to why the supply is fluctuating – some of which include Chinese customs seizing recycled screens coming back from the US. Others include factories in China not producing the screens anymore. Regardless of what rumor may or may not be true, it seems that the issue is stemming from China and there is no end in sight.
We will do our best to continue providing the high quality parts we use for screen repair (and all repairs) at the best prices possible.
Thank you to all of our loyal customers ! We appreciate you!
